Ronkonkoma is a neighborhood in Long Island, N.Y., that has some venues for comedy acts. National and local acts are regularly featured in the clubs and some are host to private and fundraising events, open mic nights and comedy classes. Ronkonkoma also is home to the Long Island MacArthur Airport.
Gateway Comedy Club is in Ronkonkoma's Holiday Inn and features local and national comedy acts as well as the Friday Night Comedy Trainwreck, a showcase for up-and-coming stand-up comics. The club also includes themed and holiday events such as the St. Patty's Day Comedy Celebration, which features Irish comedians. Recent acts to grace the Gateway stage include Wild Willy Parsons from the NBC show "Last Comic Standing," Karith Foster, Vanessa Hollingshead and Paul Venier. An open mic night and comedy classes also are featured.

McGuire's Comedy Club showtimes are 8 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Special event showtimes can vary. Notable recent performers include The Rev. Bob Levy, D.L. Hughley, Jim Breuer, Bill Burr, Louis CK and Gilbert Gottfried. The club's "comedy college" offers classes for those interested in stand-up comedy. The club also hosts bachelorette parties, kids' shows, senior shows, after-prom shows and private events.

Comedy To Go is the provider of comedy shows to hotels, clubs and convention centers in the Long Island area. Shows generally are held Thursday through Saturday. An open mic night is organized on Sunday. Comedy To Go also hosts fundraising events for area organizations including local sports teams, nonprofit organizations, firehouses, rehabilitation centers and hospitals. Regular events are held at the Plainview and Carle Place Holiday Inn, Chesterfields in Huntington and the Vibe Lounge in Rockville Centre. Comedy To Go features some comedians who have television credits Chesterfields originally was called "Cinnamons" and is where Eddie Murphy and Kevin James were discovered.
