Broome is county located in southern New York state. Broome County includes towns, villages and hamlets such as Endwell, Kirkwood, Maine, Windsor, Port Dickinson and Conklin. Binghamton is the county seat and is home to Binghamton University and the many of the region’s high-tech companies. Number 5 has been a restaurant in Binghamton since 1978, when it was bought by Jim McCoy. Number 5 has a diverse menu, with seafood, pasta, soups, salads and steaks. Guests can order osso bucco, jumbo lump crab cakes, braised short ribs and boneless pork chops Milanese. Number 5 has a few vegetarian dishes as well, including grilled vegetable strudel and fettuccine primavera. Number 5 also has a lengthy wine list, filled with bottles from France, New York, California, Spain and Italy. Number 5 caters corporate events and provides event planning services.

    • Whole In the Wall is a natural foods restaurant in Binghamton. Whole In the Wall uses only fresh and natural ingredients, and has both meatless and meaty menu items. Customers can order organic whole wheat breads, stir-fried vegetables with organic tempeh and tofu, fresh fish, vegetarian-fed chicken and all-natural hot dogs. Whole In the Wall claims to also make the best pesto in the universe. The restaurant runs daily specials, such as peach pie, mushroom quiche and low-carb burgers.     • P.S. Restaurant and Luxury Lounge is a Vestal establishment owned by head chef Richard Dodd. P.S. has an eclectic menu, with vegetarian, seafood, beef and chicken dishes alongside Thai cuisine. Appetizers include pate maison and chicken satays, with main dishes such as tofu ravioli, pla pao (boneless rainbow trout in tamarind) and chicken breast a l’orange. P.S. also has a full beverage list with both domestic and international red, white, blush and sparkling wines.

    Aiello’s Ristorante

    • Aiello’s Ristorante is owned and operated by the Aiello family, who emigrated to the United States from Sicily. Vito Aiello opened the restaurant in 1982, and it quickly grew from a cozy little pizzeria to a full-service Italian restaurant. Aiello’s serves a huge number of seafood, chicken, pasta and steak dishes, along with appetizers, sides, soups, salads and pizzas. The restaurant also has a lunch menu with burgers, subs, wraps and panini sandwiches, and a kids’ menu offering stuffed shells, shrimp baskets and ravioli. The traditional dishes include Sicilian eggplant parmigiana, baked eggplant manicotti parmigiana and brucioli, stuffed steak simmered in a homemade red sauce along with mushrooms and peppers.
