Pahrump is about 60 miles west of Las Vegas and located in Nye County, Nevada. The city of about 40,000 is about 60 miles east of Death Valley. The town's elevation ranges from 2,550 to 2,750 feet above sea level. While you are planning activities in Pahrump, keep in mind there's never a lack of scenery as the city is surrounded by the Spring Mountain Range to the east and the Nopah Mountains to the west.

The government operates and maintains public campgrounds. They are funded mostly by tax dollars. Pahrump is on the major Las Vegas-Death Valley route. The city is a gateway to Death Valley National Park. Campsites are usually first-come, first-serve basis. Camping in the Pahrump Valley Wilderness area is permitted, but motorized vehicles are not permitted in sections of the wilderness.

The closest airport to Pahrump is Calvada Meadows Airport, but it's a guest-only airfield.

Some campgrounds might have a bar on location as well.
