If you're looking to do something thrilling, face your fears of height on the Seattle Space Needle, which is 605 feet in height. Visit the top deck and look out below, and if you're hungry, stop and have a bite to eat in the Seattle Space Needle's rotating restaurant inside. The Space Needles looks out over downtown Seattle, along with other locations such as Lake Union and the Elliot Bay Marina.

Instead of just watching the whales from a zoo, take a trip out to the middle of the ocean, where you'll encounter with Orca whales, Minke whales, Gray whales, and possibly even dolphins and sea lions. Tours with the San Juan Safaris run from the beginning of April all the way until November. For adults, each tour is about $75, and $49 per child up to age 12. Don't forget to bring binoculars (and a camera), though the San Juan Safaris does offer loaners out on the boat.

Friday Harbor offers whale watching, biking, and other outdoor activities such as hiking, but the town itself has much more to offer as well. The San Juan Community Theater is often having concerts or performances and recommends tourists stop by to check them out. The San Juan County Historical Museum offers hours of entertainment and learning, or you are also free to whale watch from anywhere on the island. The town of Friday Harbor features wine tastings, restaurants, shopping, and relaxation spas. There are guided island and bus tours available throughout the town in case you're interested in exploring the land. If you're looking for more outdoor activities, visit the local scuba diving center, go water skiing, or even kayaking.

If you're not getting on a ferry anytime soon and you're staying local , check out the GameWorks arcade in Seattle. The arcade is usually open from 11 a.m to 12 midnight or 1AM each night, so the option to play all day is open. At GameWorks you can purchase game credit cards to play games throughout the arcade. On top of the virtual video games, there are traditional games available such as shooting pool and playing darts.
