Tunica, Miss., is more widely known as a casino hotspot in the southeast, but the city's recreational activities go beyond gambling. According to the Tunica Convention Visitors Bureau, the city is increasingly becoming a top golf destination in Northeastern Mississippi. Whether amateur, semi-pro or the next Tiger Woods, golfers can enjoy a number of courses in and around Tunica.
This golf course is on the sprawling Harrah's casino in Tunica. The 18-hole golf course sponsors and hosts charity events and tournaments throughout the year and in 2007 the Casino Player Awards voted The Links at Cottonwood its best golf course. As of September 2010, a round of golf at this Hale Irwin-designed course will range between $49 and $79, depending on the time of year you play. The Links at Cottonwood also has a fully-equipped pro shop, clubhouse and restaurant to service players.

Tunica National offers golf clinics and a golf academy for amateurs and pros alike. PGA Tour golfer Mark McCumber designed this public, 18-hole course, which features sloping fairways, Bermuda grass and tee boxes with six markers. Golf carts at Tunica National have GPS systems to track yardage and scoring, as well as distances from fairway hazards and landmarks. The carts also have a communication system so players can make contact with the pro shop.

River Bend Links is in Robinsonville, Miss., just under 30 minutes away from Tunica. The 6,923-yard course was built in 1998, born through an alliance between Resorts Tunica, Casino Strip Resorts and Sam's Town Casino. Each year River Bend Links hosts golf tournaments and special events. Golfers can enjoy River Bend Links' pro shop, practice facilities and on-site restaurant in addition to the expansive golf course.
