Inter-Island Boat Trips in Hawaii

Air travel is the most common mode of transport between the Hawaiian Islands, but boat travel offers sea level views of marine life like whales and dolphins, spectacular sea cliffs and craggy, verdant volcanoes. There are several opportunities to travel between islands by boat or ship. Because the islands that comprise Maui County (Maui, Lanai, Molokai and Kaho'olawe) are relatively close together, much of the inter-island fleet is concentrated in the area.

  1. Hawaiian Islands Cruise

    • Many of the major cruise operators, notably Princess, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Lines, offer Hawaiian Island cruises, with ports of call on Oahu, Maui, Kauai and the Big Island. The itineraries and cost vary by cruise line and the types of package. Most of the cruises depart from Honolulu, but some of the longer itineraries leave from West Coast ports such as San Diego or Los Angeles.
