  1. Water World

    • Water World offers adventurous attractions for people of all ages. Filled with more than 450,000 gallons of water, the park's wave pool has three-foot waves that stay on for 10 minutes at a time. The park also has a 41-foot Great White Water Slide as well as a Triple Flume Slide, with three flumes. Water World is open from May until the Labor Day weekend annually; children two and under are allowed in for free.

    Wiregrass Museum of Art

    • Other than exhibits, displays and galleries, the Wiregrass Museum of Art in Dothan offers a wide array of art education activities for children and families. Each summer and fall, the museum hosts an Arty Pants for Toddlers program, a series of art classes that introduces shapes, textures and colors to small children through paint and other media. The first Saturday of each month is Family Day, in which elementary-aged children and their family members participate in a hands-on workshop, led by an art educator. Studio Saturdays, held in the summer months annually, is a weekly pottery class for tweens. All workshops and child-friendly art programs have varying fees.

    Dothan Area Botanical Gardens

    • The Dothan Area Botanical Gardens (DABG) welcomes children and families. The attraction houses 50 acres of cultivated gardens; these gardens range from an herb garden to a rose garden to a butterfly garden. Children and visitors can take advantage of the gardens' nature trails; they may view the wildlife, such as birds, chipmunks and butterflies. Admission to the DABG is free, but donations are accepted. The gardens are open throughout the year.
