Phoenix Area Adult Activities

Phoenix is a dynamic western city known for its dry heat, towering cacti and gorgeous views in every direction you face. And though Phoenix is a great place to bring kids or even young adults, it has a lot to offer to other age groups as well. In fact, the city of saguaros is chock-full of fun activities geared toward those who aren't into zoos or children's museums. From happening nightlife scenes to great outdoor shopping to fine dining and beyond, Phoenix has adults covered.

  1. Papago Park

    • If there's one particular thing people rave about when they come to Phoenix, it's the stunning views and diverse landscapes. Papago Park is an adult-friendly place that allows you to really soak it up. It's a desert park, so expect weather-sculpted buttes, lizards, cacti and beautiful red rock. Within the park there's a refreshing botanical garden as well as covered picnic areas (ramadas).

    Hot Air Balloon Ride

    • Another way to get a taste of Phoenix's beauty is to take a ride in one of its hot air balloons. The hot air balloon business is a booming one in this desert city, so you won't be hard pressed to find a tour. Ticket prices vary by the company, but as of August 2010, prices ranged from $150 to $350 per each adult. These one- to two-hour balloon rides are provided for both sunrise and sunset, though sunset rides are not available during the summer months due to the heat.
