Chicago is also home to a number of art and crafts fairs and festivals.

  1. The Renegade Craft Fair

    • Dedicated to craft art, design and DIY enthusiasts, the Renegade Craft Fair takes place in Chicago's Wicker Park. Over 300 artists and craftsmen come to sell handmade goods at the Renegade Craft Fair, including clothing, jewelry, ceramic goods, art, comics and more. Local eateries provide food, and raffles and music contribute to the vibrant environment.

    57th Street Art Fair

    • Founded by local silversmith Mary Louise Warner in 1948, the 57th Street Art Fair takes place annually in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. When the number of applicants to the fair exceeded the number of available spots in 1963, Worner and a committee instituted a selection process which now brings in 250 artists from across the United States to exhibit on 57th Street. Artists at the fair offer works ranging from photography, printmaking, jewelry, ceramics, woodcarving and more. The Fair is alcohol-free and family friendly.

    Art Chicago

    • Chicago hosts Art Chicago: The International Fair of Modern and Contemporary Art. The fair offers booths to both emerging and established art galleries in order to offer collectors, artists, curators and modern and contemporary art enthusiasts a survey of 20th and 21st century artists working in various medias. Video and installation works are included among more traditional media like painting, drawing, sculpture and photography.
