Located in south-central Washington's Franklin County in the city of Connell, Scooteney Lake, which is also known as Scooteney Reservoir, is and managed by the Bureau of Reclamation and located in the Scooteney Park Recreation Area.
Part of the Columbia Basin, Scooteney Reservoir is a popular destination for yellow perch, crappie, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, whitefish and bluegill fishing.
According to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Scooteney Reservoir is open year-round for both fishing and boating.
Access to the western end of Scooteney Reservoir is provided by the Bureau of Reclamation Campground, which offers a boat launch, docks and restrooms. Boat ramps are also located on both ends of the reservoir.
According to Washington's State Department of Licensing, all boating vessels operating on Scooteney Reservoir must be registered with the state.
In Scooteney Reservoir and the surrounding park area, boaters are permitted to fish, hunt, picnic, camp or participate in water sports.
