Some of these are for gays only (males), others are for lesbians only (females) and others are for both. There is normally a minimum age requirement in these resorts. Many are for members only, although it often does not take more than 24 hours to be a member. Gay camping resorts give patrons a feeling of safety because here gay and lesbian campers can be themselves.
This 100-acre campground is gay-owned, admits only male members who are 21 years old and above, and allows nudity in some areas. There is a pond for sunning and swimming, and nature trails for hiking. It is located amidst the rolling hills of Genesee Valley in New York. Seasonal camping starts May and ends October. For rent are log cabins, 175 campsites with water and electricity, and primitive sites with water only. Amenities include heated showers, flush toilets, a café, recreation field with volleyball, Internet access, lounge with satellite TV and pool table, picnic tables, and a general store with firewood, beer and ice. Fridays are bingo nights, while there are campfires, DJs and dancing every Friday and Saturday night. Campit opens weekends in April and May, then goes seven days a week in June and for the rest of the summer. An outdoor resort for gay and lesbian members and friends, the 33-acre Campit is 10 minutes from Saugatuck/Douglas, in Michigan. It offers five different wooded camping areas for tents and more than a hundred RV sites with partial or full hook-ups. Also available are a pair of one-bedroom cabins, 16 one-room log cabins, a five-bedroom bed-and-breakfast, and trailer rentals. There are weekly events and activities, and attractions and amenities that include two ponds, a creek, wooded nature trails, three bathhouses, a recreation hall, a club house, a store stocked with essentials, game room, heated swimming pool, volleyball, horseshoes and a community fire pit. Friendly dogs and cats are welcome, with some restrictions.

Lumberjack’s is a gay and lesbian resort for members 18 years of age or older. It is on 150 acres of secluded property, two hours south of Atlanta and seven miles off Interstate 75. It offers tent sites, full hook-up RV sites with 30- or 50-amp electric service, and camping cabins. Lumberjack’s offers long term site rentals for RV's and park models, and is an authorized retailer for custom-built park models and cabin park models. It has a clothing-optional pool area, with heated pool, community hot tub, and bathroom and shower facilities. All cabins have air conditioning. heater, linens, towels, refs, coffeemakers, TV/DVD players and micros. A 4000-square-foot dance club is used for bingo, pot lucks and live entertainment. A store sells beer, soda, wine, bread, chips and other items, and another offers leather apparel, DVD's, greeting cards, magazines and gift items.
