Adequately named, Three Rivers sits where the North, South and Middle forks of the Kaweah River converge. Three Rivers has been a camping destination since the late 1800s. To avoid the timber industry from cutting down the giant sequoias, Congress established Sequoia National Park in 1890. Sequoia National Park was California's first national park and the nation's second.
Three RV campgrounds offer full hookups in Three Rivers and are close to or on the Kaweah river and less then 10 miles to the park. Kaweah RV Park is three miles from Lake Kaweah. Sequoia RV Ranch is seven miles from Lake Kaweah and two miles from Three Rivers. Three miles from Sequoia National Park, Three Rivers Hideaway offers 42 RV sites and cabin camping.

Even though the population of Three Rivers is small, the town is packed with everything the RV camper needs: two gas stations, two grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants for fine and casual dining. Three Rivers is open year-round; however, the season in Sequoia National Park is late spring to fall. The local hospital is in nearby Visalia.
Since peak season in Three Rivers is the late spring to early fall, expect the temperature lows to dip into the 40s and the highs to reach the mid-80s March through May. June, July, August, September and October temperatures range from 58 to 99 degrees. November thru February are the coldest months with dips into the mid-30s and highs averaging 61 degrees.
The Kaweah river offers fishing, swimming and whitewater rafting. Lake Kaweah is a destination for boaters, swimmers, hikers and anyone who may simply want to picnic by the lake. Hiking trails surround several meadows in Sequoia. Not only will you see giant trees that have grown for hundreds of years, but you'll also probably witness a bear finding its morning meal or a mule dear walking nearby. With over 800 miles of trails in Sequoia and King's Canyon, you'll find plenty of hiking and walking. Most trails are in the Giant Forest and Lodgepole area. Moro Rock sends you 400 steps to a spectacular view. Crystal Cave offers tours. A 1.5 mile hike to the cave will start your journey into the dark underground. While the temperatures in the summer may be hot outside, the cave temperature stays at 49 degrees, so bring a jacket or sweater.
