The Dallas Area Rapid Transit System (DART) includes inner-city bus and rail transportation and the Trinity Railway Express, which covers not only Dallas but other cities in the Metroplex, such as Hurst, Irving, Richland Hills and Fort Worth. Dallas is filled with nightclubs, restaurants, parks and other attractions. Clever and thrifty visitors (and residents) can use the DART system to get to many of them.
The Dallas Zoo not only has exotic animals but also a market, rides and special programs such as Mother's Day brunch, summer camp and spring preschool. The zoo was founded in 1888 and covers 95 acres of land. It has river, bush, forest, desert, woodland and mountain areas and features many kinds of animals such as chimpanzees, penguins, meerkats, iguanas, cheetahs and wallabies. The zoo has its own food court and wildflower garden and is easily accessible from the DART Red Line. In fact, it even offers discounted rates on Monday and Tuesday to visitors who present a same-day DART pass.

Dealy Plaza was the site of the November 1963 murder of President John F. Kennedy. Much of the plaza is still the same as it was then, with the addition of the Sixth Floor Museum in the former Texas School Book Depository. The Sixth Floor Museum offers exhibits and tours concerning the presidency and assassination of John Kennedy, including a unique cell phone walking tour to guide guests through more than dozen related historic sites in the city. Dealy Plaza and the Sixth Floor Museum are located in the West End district of downtown Dallas and are accessible from both DART light rail and the Trinity Railway Express.
