Located near the Corning Museum of Glass, the Rockwell Museum of Western Art teaches visitors western and Native American civilization. The museum features works on themes like buffalo, horses, cowboys and Indians and the wilderness. The Rockwell Museum of Western Art features exhibits that include photographs from the late 1880s, wildlife art from Ansel Adams and Gloria O'Keefe, southwestern pottery and Native American baskets. Spencer Crest Nature Center offers visitors to Corning the chance to get out and experience nature on the facility's 250 acres. The Spencer Crest Nature Center features seven miles of hiking and walking trails. The trails are divided into sections for beginners, intermediate and advanced hikers. The center also features an interpretive center for educational programs and activities. The interpretive center is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., while the trails are open from sunrise to sunset.
