How to RV Camp in Disney World

Walt Disney World has a specific RV park called Fort Wilderness to accommodate visitors who wish to travel in RVs. It also contains sites for tent camping and rustic cabins for those who want to "rough it" a bit. It sits on the edge of Bay Lake just across from the Magic Kingdom park, making it a convenient way to access Disney World's most popular theme park. Check to see what kinds of activities are available at Fort Wilderness. Take a break from Disney with the occasional "down day," when you relax in your RV instead of fighting the crowds at the parks. Fort Wilderness offers two swimming pools, a white sand beach, a playground, arcade, two tennis courts and a jogging track along the lake shore. Those interested in more elaborate activities can sign up for horseback rides or carriage excursions, which are available for an extra fee, or a join a "campfire sing-along" featuring Disney mascots, followed by an outdoor Disney movie played every night.

Plan your food requirements before you arrive. If you have an RV, you easily can pack your own food. Disney also has four restaurants at Fort Wilderness, offering barbecue and campsite-style food. Two of the restaurants serve buffet-style meals, while a third presents a musical revue along with dinner. The fourth, Crockett's Tavern, is a full-service bar and serves appetizers and pizza in addition to drinks.
