Visit during the off-season when hotels, both on and off of the Disney property, offer discounts. Off-season is considered September through May.
Eat meals outside of theme parks whenever possible. When you're spending day after day inside the parks, this can be tricky, but the effort could be worth it. Meals in side the Disney World gates are always sold at premium prices.
Carry water bottles in a backpack and refill them at water fountains throughout the day. This is a great way to save, as beverages on-site typically cost at least $3.
Splurge on your favorite Disney World restaurants for lunch rather than dinner. You'll still enjoy the amazing food and great atmospheres while paying lunch prices that are significantly lower than dinner ones.
Look for offerings at certain on-site restaurants where kids eat free.
Purchase items such as film, diapers, sunscreen and other necessities outside the parks.
Buy your theme park tickets at the time you make your hotel reservations rather than waiting until you arrive. This way, you'll be protected in case Disney decides to adjust admission prices.
Buy a Park Hopper Plus pass if you think you'll spend time at Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach or Pleasure Island. If you forgo the pass but visit these sites, you'll end up paying for each separately, adding big costs to your overall vacation budget.
