San Antonio’s Riverwalk is a series of walkways along the San Antonio River and beneath the downtown of the city. It is both the city and state’s leading attraction, according to Fodor’s website. Visitors can take boat rides along the river and enjoy the network of restaurants, bars and shops lining the streets. Al fresco tables with a view of the river are a popular draw so make reservations (if available) or prepare to wait during busy times for these tables.
Since 1946, Casa Rio has served classic Tex-Mex items, such as nachos, taco soup, fajitas and margaritas. Diners can sit at tables along the river or inside the restaurant. Casa Rio, the "river house," also offers riverboat dining and party/banquet room rentals.
