Restaurants at the Ferry Building in San Francisco

The Ferry Building in San Francisco is located at the bottom of Market Street along the Embarcadero. The building features a weekly farmers market and farm stores as well as bakeries, butchers, confectioneries and culinary stores. In addition to several small cafes and delicatessens, the Ferry Building also offers three major restaurants.
  1. Slanted Door

    • The Slanted Door is located in the northeast corner of the Ferry Building and features modern Vietnamese food. The restaurant uses locally grown produce and ecologically farmed meat, seafood and wild game. The restaurant seats more than 200 people between the main dining room, bar and heated outdoor patio.

      The Slanted Door also offers a takeout option called "Out the Door" that sells fully prepared dishes and cooking kits that customers can prepare at home. The restaurant offers a lunch, tea and dinner menu and a prix fixe menu that allows groups to choose from several dishes that are then served family-style.

    Gott's Roadside

    • Gott's Roadside is located on the southeast corner of the Ferry Building and features indoor dining, patio seating and a to-go menu. The restaurant specializes in fine fast food with menu options such as soft shell crab tacos and portabello Reuben sandwiches.

      The restaurant uses produce from the farmers market as well as other locally sourced items. All of the beef is sourced from local farms from cows that have not been given antibiotics or growth hormones and is ground fresh every day. The restaurant also offers an extensive selection of wines by the glass or bottle and both draft and bottled beer.

    Market Bar

    • Market bar is located on the southwest corner of the Ferry Building and features fresh Mediterranean food made from produce sold at the farmers market and other locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner during the week and also serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday. From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. nightly the restaurant also offers a tapas menu and happy hour cocktails.

      The restaurant features a dining room and bar as well as a seasonal outdoor patio. In addition to hearty fare such as seafood stew and Kobe-style steak, the restaurant also offers an extensive selection of both European and California wines.
