Train Rides in Indiana

Whether you are a train enthusiast or just want to take a scenic trip on a train, Indiana is home to various museums and depots that offer trips for the entire family. Visit any number of the train museums in the state and learn about the effect of railroads on the country and see artifacts before hopping onto a train for a short time.

  1. Indiana Railway Museum

    • If you are in the mood to spend the day with trains, Indiana Railway Museum offers one hour and 45 minute train rides through 20 miles of scenery which goes through the Hoosier National Forest, the Burton Tunnel and rock or foliage throughout the year. The company that provides the rides, French Lick Scenic Railway, also offers special events during the year, like a Fall Foliage tour in October to take you up close and personal with the changing tree colors. It also presents "Legend of the Lost Train" in October, a ghostly train ride complete with live entertainment and trips through the supposedly haunted Burton Tunnel.
