Bar Harbor and its attractions--Mount Desert Island, Cadillac Mountain, Acadia National Park, to name a few--attract visitors year-round who want to explore the island and learn about its wildlife and history. And for visitors yearning to see the island by sea, land, or air, it's no problem...Bar Harbor offers it all!
A unique sightseeing tour in Bar Harbor is with Captain John aboard Lulu--a U.S. Coast Guard certified Maine lobster boat. Lulu Lobster Boat Ride takes you around Frenchman Bay, watching seals, sea birds and eagles, and close to many private islands and homes off the coast of Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island. While aboard, Captain John shows you what a day in the life of a lobsterman is like--you will see and learn all about lobsters and how traps work. Additionally, Lulu Lobster Boat Ride offers weddings and vow renewals on board.
Rides last around two hours and run roughly from the beginning of May until the end of October. It's recommended to bring warm clothing (since a day out at sea can get chilly), sunscreen, snacks and cameras. Tours take off from the Harborside Hotel & Marina's dock.
