Truck Shows in VA

Originally designed to transport goods commercially, trucks in recent years have become popular vehicles to customize. Home to a number of custom truck enthusiast groups, Virginia annually holds several contests and shows for trucks, monster trucks and big rigs.

  1. East Cost Truckin' Nationals

    • Presented by Truck Enterprises and Elizabeth Truck Center, Virgina Motorsports Park in Petersburg is hosting the East Coast Truckin' Nationals from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3, 2010. More than 40 vendors will be showing off award-winning trucks such as Beast, Mayhem and Predator. Attendees can also expect to see truck accessories such as chrome bumpers, chrome exhausts, LED lights, train horns, custom designs, custom interiors and designer graphics. Trucks will also be competing in drag races. More than 50 different classes of trucks, including monster trucks, will be featured at the event.

    Shell Rotella SuperRigs Show

    • For the 28th year in a row, the Shell Rotella SuperRigs Show will be held in Lexington from June 10 through June 12, 2010 at Lee Hi Travel Plaza. Shell Rotella, a premium gasoline for trucks, is the main sponsor for an event known in the industry as the "Super Bowl of Truck Beauty Contests." The Lee Hi Travel Plaza has been featured on the Travel Channel and is also hosting the Virgina Truck Driving Championships on June 18 and June 19, 2010.

    Falcons Car & Truck Show

    • For the third year in a row, the PTSA for York High School is hosting the York High School Falcons Car Show on March 27, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds from the show go to the After-Prom event, an adult-chaperoned, alcohol and drug free party that's held after Prom. The show features 17 classes of vehicles, including cars, trucks and motorcycles. Fifty-six trophies will be awarded to participants, including an award for best of show and people's choice. The first 125 entries will also receive a goody bag and dash plaque. There will also be restrooms, concessions, door prizes and raffle at the event. More than 135 vehicles competed in 2009.The cost to register before the event is $15 and $20 at the event. Admission for spectators is free. Rain date is set for March 28, 2010 from noon to 4 p.m.

    Antique Truck Show

    • From Sept. 23 to Sept. 25, 2010, the Stonewall District Ruritan/Frederick Co. Fairgrounds will hold the 6th Annual Tri-State ATHS (American Truck Historical Society) Antique Truck Show. In 2009, over 250 trucks were on display and $6,000 from the proceeds went to charity.
