Wherever you live in San Diego County, you'll find one of eight accredited community colleges close by. These two-year colleges offer a variety of certificate and associate degree programs, and many students transfer to four-year schools that include California State University, San Marcos; San Diego State University; and the University of California, San Diego.
In the northwest corner of the county, MiraCosta's 15,000 students enroll in majors such as business administration, commercial music and law enforcement. The school also has a competitive surfing team.
