Port Jefferson is a historic port town 50 miles east of New York City on Long Island. Settled in 1682, it was called Drowned Meadow and renamed Port Jefferson in 1852 in honor of President Thomas Jefferson. The town was incorporated in 1963 and is a popular location offering beaches, marinas, quaint shops, live music, the annual Dickens Festival and a variety of fine restaurants.
The Fifth Season is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday, as well as Sunday for brunch, beginning at 11 a.m. A three-course prix fixe meal is available, or you can order from the menu. Using local resources, the Fifth Season offers a variety of entrees, such as filet mignon, pan-seared duck, oven-roasted swordfish organic chicken breast and several pastas. Many of the dishes are gluten-free and organic. One of the soup choices is puree of caramelized Vidalia onion. Desserts include pistachio cake and pineapple compote. Brunch features fruit, omelets, French toast or frittata, soups, salads and sandwiches.

The Village Way restaurant is in Chandler Square near the Port Jefferson Ferry. It is open daily for brunch, lunch and dinner. An early-bird dinner includes appetizer, entree and dessert, and every Thursday evening is pasta night. On the first weekend in December, the staff dresses in Victorian costumes for the Dickens Festival. In addition to an authentic Victorian prix fixe dinner during this time, the menu includes salads, soups, sandwiches and a variety of seafood selections, steak and chicken. A children's menu is available and the restaurant caters for lunch and dinner.

Ruvo Restaurant and Bar features country Italian cuisine. It is open daily for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. It offers a two-course prix fixe lunch menu daily and a three-course prix fixe dinner menu Sunday through Thursday. Kids meals are also available. Featured menu items include Orecchiette and Chicken Carbonara, Eggplant Rollatini, Swordfish Puttanesca and Long Island Duck. Ruvo can accommodate private parties for lunch and dinner.
