Walt Disney World's Old Key West Resort is proximate to downtown Disney, about 25 miles from Orlando International Airport. It is a 761 room resort that recreates the romance and flavor of the historic Florida Keys. Old Key West Resort opened in 1992 as one of Disney's timeshare resorts. Now, it offers rooms on the palm-tree studded island to nonmembers.
Disney's Old Key West Resort is a marina-style resort with freestanding villas that evoke the early 20th century architecture of Florida's Key West. Pastel colors, ornate gingerbread architectural accents and Victorian flavor lend charm. Guest rooms include studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom villas with efficiency kitchens and living rooms. The grand villas, featuring 2,265 square feet of living space, accommodate as many as 12 adults.
Hospitality House, the central building at Old Key West Resort, has two restaurants, a store, a fitness center and a lounge. The resort boasts beautiful waterways and the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. A ferry service is available to cross the lake to downtown Disney. Old Key West Resort is next to Disney World's Epcot theme park.
Disney's Old Key West Resort offers many recreational activities. Basketball, biking, tennis, volleyball, jogging, walking, swimming, golf and boating are part of the fun. The resort has four swimming pools, 1.37 miles of trails, boat rentals and plentiful shopping. There also are plentiful notes on the history and culture of Florida's Key West.
Standard room rates at the Old Key West Villas start at $295 per night, plus tax, and go to more than $1,600 per night for multiroom villas. Value Season pricing is available, and minimum stays often apply.
The Old Key West Villa Resort expands a large area. If people in your group have trouble walking, bring a car, which can be parked in front of your villa. The resort is smoke-free; a few designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
