Fort Wilderness is located on 750 acres of "lush pine and cypress trees" near the Magic Kingdom theme park, which is one of four theme parks in Walt Disney World Resort. The large resort can be explored in an electric golf cart, which makes it easier for people of all abilities. Electric-powered carts are available for rent at the Outpost.
There are four different types of campsites at Fort Wilderness Resort, including Premium Campsites, which can accommodate 45-foot-and-longer RVs. Each campsite has water, cable TV, electrical hook-ups, a picnic table and charcoal grill. Most sites also have a sewer hook-up. For a fee, high-speed Internet is available. The resort offers "Comfort Stations," which are air-conditioned and have private restrooms and showers. Additionally, a laundromat, ice machines and pay phones are available.
