Advantages to a Disney Credit Card

If you have young children, you may want to apply for a Disney credit card through Chase Bank (see the Resources section). There's no annual fee and you can receive discounts, special offers and earn points from Disney just because you're a cardholder. A Disney credit card will help make your vacation to Disney more affordable and memorable.

  1. Disney Store Discounts

    • You can receive 10 percent off select merchandise when you purchase $50 or more at a Disney Store or the website (see the Resources section) and pay with your Disney credit or debit card. If ordering online, use the promotion code DRVCMEMBER (as of 2010) to receive the discount. The $50 threshold is a purchase amount before shipping, handling and taxes. It does not include a number of items, such as theme park merchandise and passes, DVDs, CDs, books, art, collectibles, precious moments and other products. You will need to consult a store clerk or your credit card information to see if a particular item is eligible for the discount.

    Character Meet and Greet

    • As you cardholder, you are eligible for a character meet and greet at a private cardmember location once you've paid for admission into the park. There you can meet your favorite Disney characters and pose for pictures with them. You also receive a free 5-inch by 7-inch photo. The California location is in the California Adventure Park and the Florida one is in the Epcot Park. Each offers one meet and greet daily. You will need to present your Disney credit or debit card. One card will allow up to six people to enter.

    Vacation Discounts

    • As a Disney credit or debit card holder, you can receive a number of discounts and vacation specials by using your card. It begins with special financing of your Disney Vacation, including 10 percent off of your stay at a Walt Disney World or Disneyland resort. You also receive 20 percent off of the non-discount prices on select guided tours of the resorts and half off stroller rentals in the theme parks. Discounts similar to those at a Disney Store are available when you use your card to pay for items at a Disney Resort. You will need to consult a store clerk or your credit card information to see if a particular item is eligible for the discount.

    Disney Rewards

    • You will receive one Disney Dream Dollar for every $100 in net purchases that you make with your Disney credit or debit card. These rewards may be redeemed for additional discounts and free items at Disney locations. You do not earn Dream Dollars on cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders or credit card checks.
