Enjoy the wooden boardwalk lined with casinos, shops and eateries. This four-mile boardwalk, created in 1870, was the first to ever be built and was made to keep the sand from the beach out of the local merchants' stores. It's now a popular attraction that other shore resorts have emulated. While strolling the boards, stop for salt water taffy, another Atlantic City original, first introduced in the late 19th century and now a popular souvenir.

Is a four-mile walk too much for you? Hop on the famous Atlantic City Strolling wicker chairs to be pushed down the boardwalk by a chair operator. Complete with a roof, these chairs are also perfect in inclement weather.
