What Is the Closest Beach to Disney World?

Located in central Florida, Disney World is a popular place to visit for a theme park experience. It is also driving distance to the beach, which makes for a pleasant diversion from the attractions. Cocoa Beach, approximately a one-hour drive away, is the closest beach to Disney World.

  1. Directions

    • Take SR 528, also known as The Beachline, east to Cocoa Beach. After Port Canaveral, The Beachline becomes A1A, which leads directly to Cocoa Beach. The Beachline is a toll road so be sure to bring some extra money for the trip.

    Parking

    • No driving or parking is allowed on the beach at Cocoa Beach. Parking can be found at designated lots, metered spots or free street parking.

    Safety

    • Lifeguards are stationed at the beaches during the summer months. However, there are no lifeguards between Labor Day and Easter, so use caution and always be aware of weather and water conditions.

    Surfing

    • Cocoa Beach is a top surfing destination for both amateurs and professionals. Local surf shops sell equipment and offer lessons.

    Rules

    • No bottles or pets are allowed on the beaches. Be aware of turtle nesting areas and do not disturb them.
