Walt Disney wanted to make a second resort with enough land around it to prevent development of hotels and restaurants that had sprung up around Disneyland, California. He found such property in Orlando, Florida.
The four main theme parks of Walt Disney World are the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Animal Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The Magic Kingdom's attractions include rides, parades, musical shows and nighttime fireworks. Disney's Animal Kingdom has around 17,000 animals from 250 species. Hollywood Studios provide a peek at technology involved in making a Hollywood action movie. Epcot's Future World focuses on technology and innovation, while the World Showcase highlights the culture and food of 11 different countries.
