Disney Theme Parks in Orlando, Florida

Walt Disney World Resort is located in Lake Buena Vista near Orlando, Florida. Travelers come to the resort because of all the Disney attractions and things to do in the area. Disney World is the site of four very different theme parks that provide visitors amazing experiences, as only Disney can design.

  1. Magic Kingdom

    • Magic Kingdom is the original Disney theme park built in Florida that first opened in 1971. The park design is larger, but resembles the first Disneyland in California that features Cinderella's Castle in the center, surrounded by various special "lands" taken right out of the Disney stories. These delightful lands known as Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland feature Disney characters, rides, shops, shows and places to eat that visitors will recognize from the famous Disney tales.

    Epcot

    • Epcot was the last Disney theme park envisioned by Walt Disney. However, he never lived to see it open in 1982, since he died long before this in 1966. The massive theme park divides into two separate sections. The front section, known as Future World, includes several pavilions that provide guests a chance to see what life may be like in the future through rides, exhibits and shows. The back area, known as World Showcase, has a massive lagoon encircled by 11 pavilions representing countries that feature food, products, entertainment and rides from the various homelands.

The park divides into four sections resembling a movie set that brings all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood from the 1930s and 1940s back to life in central Florida. Disney's Hollywood Studios features rides, attractions, specialty stores, entertainment and dining options. Notable attractions include Toy Story Mania, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
