Not many realize that Orlando, Florida offers more than theme parks, life sized mice, wizards and sea creatures. The Orlando Reparatory Theatre began in 1926 under a different name and has evolved to its present day form where it is partnered with the University of Central Florida's Theatre Department.The theater company prides itself on presenting family friendly productions for all audiences. Past productions include performances of "A Christmas Story," "Crazy for You" and "The Miracle Worker." Performances take place Saturdays and Sundays only, as of September 2010. Season subscriptions and individual tickets are available.

Known for championship golf, the Orlando area has mini golf as well. Pirate's Cove Mini Golf has two different courses, both set in lush landscaping along with a pirate theme complete with dungeons and sunken treasure. A discounted rate is available for the hard-core golfer who wants to play all 36 holes in the same day. Pirate's Cove is located approximately one mile from the Orlando Convention Center and Orlando Magazine voted it the number one mini golf course in the area. Pirate's Cove is open daily year-round, weather permitting.

Learn about the history and development of Central Florida at the Orange County Regional History Center.
