Facts on the Disney Parks

The Walt Disney Company operates five different Disney resorts in the world, including two in the United States, one in Europe and two in Asia. All of the resorts include a park featuring a princess castle, often considered the resort's icon.

  1. Disneyland Resort

    • The first Disney theme park was Disneyland, which opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California. Disneyland Resort now consists of two theme parks in Anaheim: Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure.

    Walt Disney World

    • Walt Disney World in Florida offers four theme parks: the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The largest of all the Disney resorts, it also hosts two water parks and an indoor theme park known as DisneyQuest.

    Tokyo Disney Resort

    • Two parks make up Tokyo Disney Resort in Japan: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. The layout at Tokyo Disneyland is similar to Disneyland Park in California and the Magic Kingdom in Florida, while Tokyo DisneySea has a port theme.

    Disneyland Resort Paris

    • Disneyland Resort Paris is the only resort where the Walt Disney Company doesn't hold a majority share; but it still has the Disney touch. Disneyland Paris has two parks. Disneyland Park is a classic Disney park. Walt Disney Studios Park offers a movie theme.

    Hong Kong Disneyland

    • The latest installment to the family of Disney parks is Hong Kong Disneyland. Only one park resides in Hong Kong, which features four classic "lands."
