Disney Parks History

Disney parks have been a cherished part of American lifestyle for over fifty years. People from all over the world have come to love the Disney brand and the Disney parks, so Disney has expanded all across the globe.
  1. Disneyland

    • Located in Anaheim, California, Disneyland opened in 1955. Although not the first amusement park, it was the first theme park. Disney's California Adventure was added in 2001.

    Walt Disney World

    • Walt Disney World opened in 1971, consisting only of The Magic Kingdom Park. EPCOT was added in 1982, Disney's Hollywood Studios (originally Disney's MGM Studios) in 1989 and Animal Kingdom in 1998.

    Tokyo Disneyland

    • Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1983. Tokyo DisneySea was added in 2001.

    Disneyland Paris

    • Disneyland Paris (originally Euro Disney) opened in 1992. Walt Disney Studios Park was added in 2002.

    Hong Kong Disneyland

    • Hong Kong Disneyland opened in 2005 and currently only has one park.

    Disney Park in Shanghai

    • Disney has plans to open a park in Shanghai, China. The park is scheduled to open in 2014.
