The Best Disney Parks for Preschoolers

Disney is known worldwide for the magic it creates for visitors of all ages. Disney's many theme parks have something for everyone from the tiniest preschooler to the eldest adult. All parks offer educational and entertaining shows with Disney characters in addition to many fantasy and thrill rides. Some of Disney's parks offer more attractions for preschoolers than others.
  1. Magic Kingdom Park - Walt Disney World, Florida

    • Preschoolers' eyes light up when they visit the Magic Kingdom and get to see their favorite Disney Characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Goofy, Mickey or Minnie Mouse. There are plenty of rides and shows to keep the little ones occupied. Children can wander through Cinderella's castle, explore Mickey's country house and Minnie's cozy cottage or take a ride aboard a horseless carriage, a fire engine or a trolley down Main Street, U.S.A.

      Preschoolers can explore Toon Town on Donald's boat or go sailing on It's a Small World. The little ones may choose to take flight on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, be whisked away from Never Land on Peter Pan's Flight or ride The Magic Carpets of Aladdin. When parents want to sit down and relax, consider watching the Country Bear Jamboree or Mickey's Philhar Magic show.

    Disney's Animal Kingdom - Walt Disney World, Florida

    • The park is divided into seven areas. Preschoolers will get the most enjoyment out of Rafiki's Planet, Dinoland, U.S.A. and Camps Minnie or Mickey, where they can meet their favorite characters and have their picture taken with them. Little ones take delight in watching shows performed by animals, birds and Disney Characters. Rides that are age appropriate for preschoolers can be found throughout the park. More than 1,700 animals call Disney's Animal Kingdom their home.

      Rafiki's Planet offer a number of domesticated animals that are friendly enough for preschoolers to pet and feed, including chickens, sheep, goats and llamas. People of all ages enjoy watching the antics of South American monkeys. Dinoland offers a path of living plants and animals that have walked the earth since prehistoric times. Children are often delighted to have their photo taken with a life size skeleton reproduction of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Preschoolers have the option to go on a scavenger hunt and getting hands on experience constructing dinosaur bones. Preschoolers enjoy climbing through tunnels and excavate fossils in the boneyard.

    Hollywood Studios - Walt Disney World, Florida

    • Hollywood Studios gives preschoolers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of their favorite Disney movies. In addition to seeing the sets, children are entertained by Disney Characters in live interactive shows. Preschoolers imaginations run wild when they are shrunk while visiting "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" movie set. Little ones are led on a 13-minute trip with their Muppet friends and get to attend a birthday party for Minnie Mouse along with Mickey, Pooh Bear and other Disney characters. Children will be delighted when they get to interact with the lovable characters from Toy Story or become part of the Little Mermaid's world when they dive under a virtual sea.

    Disneyland - Anaheim, California

    • Fantasy land offers many rides for preschoolers, including Alice in Wonderland, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Peter Pan's Flight, Pinocchio's Daring Journey and Storybook Land Canal Boats. Children can walk through Sleeping Beauty's castle to an enchanted garden to meet Tinker Bell and other fairies. Mickey's Toon Town allows kids to scurry up a spiral staircase to the Chip 'n Dale Treehouse, explore Goofy's playhouse, ride an old-fashioned locomotive or sail on Donald's boat. In Critter Country, preschoolers can explore the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh.
