The Cheapest Disney Vacation

The cheapest Disney vacation needs to be timed right. Disney typically lowers resort prices in the off, or value, season--the fall and parts of winter. You also can save money by driving instead of flying and by not buying snacks in the theme parks.

  1. Finding a Deal

    • Time your vacation for when Disney is offering reduced-price vacation packages. Find sales at Disney's website, disney.go.com. You also can watch for newspaper, magazine and television ads promoting special offers.

    Where to Stay

    • Staying in a Disney-owned resort will save you money. Resorts come with extra perks as well, such as free transportation to the parks and early park admission on select days. Choose a "value" resort, such as All-Star Sports, for the most savings.

    What to Eat

    • Buy bottled water and snacks to take into the theme parks. As of 2010, a bottle of water or soda in the parks cost $2.50, so food and beverage costs can add up quickly. Pack your own breakfast items, such as bagels or doughnuts, to lower your costs further.
