The Global Express was brought into service by Bombardier in 1999 and is certified by aeronautical organizations in both Europe and North America, including the FAA and JAA. The Global Express is capable of landing at first class, secondary and basic short field aircraft landing sites.
The Global Express is rated an ultra long distance aircraft with performance levels allowing a total distance of travel of around 6,915 miles. The Global Express XRS has a forward fuel tank allowing a greater distance to be traveled of around 7,077 miles.
Calculating performance includes the calculation of different cruising speeds of the aircraft. A high cruise speed of 580 mph can be reached, with a normal cruise speed for the Global Express being 561 mph. For long range travel, the Global Express travels at cruising speeds of 528 mph.
