How to Tell Fare Class on Lufthansa Flights

Lufthansa German Airlines has three classes of fare: first class, business class and economy class. Only Lufhansa's long-haul flights have first class fares, and short haul is divided into business and economy class. You can distinguish between Lufthansa fare classes before you book your flight, when you are locating your seat or from the service you receive when on board the aircraft.

Instructions

    • 1

Check how much you are paying for your seat. Economy class fares are the cheapest, business class is more expensive, and first class fares are the most expensive. Economy class fares will be considerably cheaper than either business or first class fares.

    • 2

Look at where your seat is located. Lufthansa has seating plans for all of its aircraft online at Lufthansa.com, designating where different fares are located. On its larger crafts, such as Boeing 747, first class and business class fares are on the upper deck, while economy fares are on the lower deck. On aircraft with one deck only, the more expensive fares are located at the front of the plane.

See what service is provided to you. Economy fare seats have less leg room and do not fully recline, while business and first class seats are more comfortable and spacious. First class fares include perks such as fine dining and a personal flight attendant.
