Flying first class is a much more luxurious and comfortable way of reaching your destination. First class passengers have more legroom, more seat room and receive additional perks, such as complimentary champagne on flights. Anyone can fly first class as long as seats are available. The cost is significantly more than flying coach, or even business class, but there are also ways to fly first class without paying the hefty price tag.

      Book your first class airline ticket by calling your airline to make your reservation. Provide the airline representative with your flight information, including your departure and arrival cities, travel dates and the number of passengers in your party. Once you've chosen the flight you want, provide the airline reservation specialist with your credit card number. Keep your confirmation number for your records.

      Fly first class by booking your ticket online. Visit your airline's website and enter your departure city, arrival city, dates and number of passengers. Check the box for "First or Business Class" reservations and submit your search. View all available flights on your airline and choose the one you want. Provide your personal information and credit card information, review your reservation and book your flight.

      Book a coach flight on your airline of choice. Anytime after making your reservation you can visit your account on the airline's website and choose the option that allows you to "View or Change Your Reservation". From here you have the option of upgrading your tickets to first class tickets.

      Upgrade to first class when you check in online or at the airport before your departure. If any first class seats are available on your flight you are notified and given the option to upgrade for a small fee. The fee to upgrade to first class is significantly less expensive than the cost of booking a first class ticket.
