How to Get a Southwest Airlines Boarding Pass

Traveling on Southwest Airlines requires a valid boarding pass from each paid passenger. There are several ways to obtain a boarding pass, including printing your pass at home, printing it from a kiosk where available and getting it from the ticketing counter at the airport. Be aware of any special considerations as you get your boarding pass, such as time restrictions and age verification.

  Print your boarding pass at home if your reservation is eligible for online printing beginning up to 24 hours before your flight. Open your web browser and go to http://www.southwest.com/flight/retrieveCheckinDoc.html. Enter your booking information and click "Check In." Follow the directions to print the boarding pass that is created for you.

  Check in upon arrival at the airport and receive your boarding pass at the Skycap Podium (where available) or at the airport ticketing counter up to four hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. You will need to present government-issued identification, such as a passport or a driver's license.

  Print your boarding pass at the e-ticket check-in kiosk at the airport. These kiosks are usually located near the Southwest Airlines ticketing counter. Touch the screen to begin the process and follow the directions to get your pass.
