How to Get a Boarding Pass for Delta Airlines

Flying with Delta, you can check in for flights and obtain boarding passes through self-service machines, airline representatives, online flight check-in services or even your mobile phone or PC with a record of Skymiles number, confirmation number, credit card number or e-ticket number.

Instructions

  1. Online Check-In

      Visit Delta's Itineraries and Check-in website 24 hours or less before your flight to check in online rather than at the airport. Fill out and submit your Skymiles number, confirmation number, credit card number or e-ticket number to view your itinerary.

      Review, add or modify your Secure Flight Passenger data for your existing reservation such as number of bags, passengers, seat assignments or status upgrade. Check your bags online and pay fees for extra baggage. Turn on a home or office printer and print your boarding passes. Arrive at the airport 75 minutes prior to departure for travel within the U.S. or at least three hours for international travel.

      Ensure you have printed boarding passes and one local or federal government-issued photo ID such as passport, driver's license or military ID to get through the security checkpoints.

    Mobile Check-In

      Visit Delta's Itineraries and Check-in website from your mobile device, PDA or PC no more than 24 hours before your flight to check in online. View your reservation by submitting your Skymiles number, confirmation number, credit card number or e-ticket number.

      Review, add or modify your Secure Flight Passenger data for your existing reservation such as number of bags, passengers, seat assignments or status upgrade. Select the "eBoarding Pass" check-in option on the website so it will be sent to either your email address or mobile phone number in the form of an e-mail or Multimedia Message Service (MMS) message. For more than one flight, there will be more than one eBoarding Pass sent to your mobile device. Make sure the entire barcode image is visible on your device when approaching the security checkpoint.

      Arrive at the airport 75 minutes prior to departure for travel within the U.S. or at least three hours prior for international travel.

      Ensure you have one local or federal government-issued photo ID such as passport, driver's license or military ID to get through the security checkpoints. Present your eBoarding Pass from your mobile device or PC at the security checkpoint to the gate agent for scanning.

    Airport Kiosk Check-in

      Look for the nearest airport kiosks at the airport to check in. Press the "Start" button on the screen and insert your credit card or SkyMiles card, or submit your SkyMiles confirmation number or ticket number to find your itinerary.

      Make any necessary changes to your itinerary such as number of bags to check and passengers who are flying.

      Print your boarding passes and receipts from the kiosks. Drop off checked bags to the baggage drop location at the airport.

    Ticket Counter Check-In

      Arrive at the airport 75 minutes prior to departure for travel within the U.S. or at least three hours prior for international travel.

      Go to your Delta's "Departures" section in the terminal. Make sure you have one local or federal government-issued photo ID such as passport, driver's license or military ID when approaching the ticket counter.

      Ask a Delta airline representative to obtain a boarding pass and provide your Skymiles number, confirmation number or e-ticket number. Other options might include swiping a credit card used for the online ticket purchase.
