How to Retrieve Your Boarding Pass for a Flight

With heightened security measures, air travel can mean some long waits in multiple lines. The line to check your bags and retrieve your boarding pass can be especially long. In order to save some time, there are a couple of different methods to retrieve your boarding pass.

Instructions

Print your boarding pass at home. After purchasing your ticket, you will be given an option to print your boarding pass on your printer if it is within 24 hours of your flight. If it is not, you will be given a confirmation code upon purchase, and logging onto the airline's site within 24 hours of departure will allow you to print your pass and in some cases choose your seat.

Use the self-serve kiosk within your airline's terminal to print your boarding pass. Many airlines offer self-serve kiosks within the regular check-in area. Inputting the confirmation code that you receive upon ticket purchase will allow you to print the boarding pass. Some companies even allow for ticket purchase as well.

Send your boarding pass to your mobile phone. Many airlines are offering an option to send it to your mobile phone via email. Clicking on the link within the email will give an option to save the barcode to your phone for easy access. As with a paper boarding pass, you will still need to provide an identification upon check-in.

Use your airline's guest services. When all else fails, you can still stand in line to retrieve your boarding pass. If you are checking bags, you must do so in the front of the terminal, but if you only have a carry-on bag, you may retrieve your pass at the departure gate at most airlines.
