What Airlines Fly From the Continental U.S. to Hawaii?

Every major airline in the United States flies from the continental United States to Hawaii, so you'll have plenty of options if you're looking to get back and forth. To narrow it down, make your choice of airlines based on the available departure cities and price. Most flights land in Oahu, where passengers transfer to an inter-island flight, though there are increasingly more direct flights to Maui and other islands.
  1. American

    • American Airlines and its affiliates, American Eagle and American Connection, offer service to most of the Hawaiian islands, including Oahu, Maui, the big island of Hawaii, and Kauai. Departure can happen from any of the airline's 250 departure cities around the world, including most major U.S. cities. Service to each of the islands happens on a daily basis. American also offers vacation packages to the islands, with flight, hotel and sometimes transportation included.

    Hawaiian

    • As its name indicates, Hawaiian Airlines' main focus is transporting people into and out of the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaiian offers flights to Oahu and Maui from many mainland gateways on the west coast of the United States, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix and Las Vegas. Vacation packages that include hotels and flights are available directly from Hawaiian Airlines.

    United

    • United Airlines and its Star Alliance partners offer service to all public Hawaiian Islands, including Lanai and Molokai, on top of Oahu, the big island of Hawaii, Maui and Kauai. United Airlines has departure cities all over the world, including most major U.S. cities, making it possible to fly to Hawaii from almost anywhere. The airline offers special deals from cold-weather cities to Hawaii during the winter months, as well as many other vacation packages.

    Delta

    • Delta Airlines, which now owns Northwest Airlines, also offers several flight options to Hawaii, including flights to Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and the big island of Hawaii. Flights from the U.S. originate in many different cities, including Los Angeles, Detroit, Atlanta and Minneapolis, but connecting flights will bring you to Hawaii from almost anywhere.

    Continental

    • Continental Airlines operates flight service to Oahu and Maui, via Los Angeles and Houston. With its network of U.S. cities that includes most major towns, it is possible to fly to Hawaii on Continental. Like the other airlines, you can book an entire vacation package through Continental.
