Air miles are calculated between two points on a map by measuring the distance between their corresponding latitude and longitude coordinates. Do not confuse air miles with driving miles, because roads and highways are not built in a straight line. Another consideration also needs to be made to where the airport is located if you are calculating a length of a flight.
Find the two cities that you would like to know the distance between.
Enter webflyer.com/travel/mileage_calculator/ into your browser. This is a Web site that will determine air miles between two airports.

The Web site will prompt you if it needs more information, such as the case if there are more than one airport in a particular city. View the results. They will include one-way and round-trip information.
Enter itouchmap.com/latlong.html into your browser. At the top of the page, enter the address that you are leaving from. Note the resulting latitude and longitude coordinates on the map.

Enter indo.com/distance/ into your browser. This tool will allow you to plug in the latitude and longitude coordinates of the two locations.
View the results. These results may be a little different that the first calculation since it is between two coordinates rather than two airports.
