Aero Lank, formerly known as Serendib Express, is one of the few currently-operating airlines in Sri Lanka. Aero Lank is a small airline that provides service to the Sri Lankan cities of Colombo, Jaffna and Trincomalee with plans to provide international service to Dubai, Singapore, the Maldives, southern India and Rome. With a fleet of just 2 planes, an Avro 748 turboprop plane and a Boeing 727 jet, Aero Lanka is able to provide reliable and safe passenger and cargo service within Sri Lanka. Follow these steps to book your flight.
Contact Aero Lanka via email. Aero Lanka has branch offices in each of the cities they travel to and are available via the email addresses: [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected].
Book seats well in advance of your travel dates. Aero Lanka planes only have 55 passenger seats. Some flights may be full if you try to book too late.
Avoid traveling to Jaffna. Aero Lanka does provide direct service to Jaffna; but, northern Sri Lanka is considered a dangerous place for travelers due to a current terrorist presence and acts of violence.
Visit the city of Trincomalee. Take a 1-hour flight to Trincomalee. Enjoy quiet beaches, explore Hindu temples or see wild monkeys roaming the streets. Aero Lanka provides 3 direct flights to Trincomalee a week.
Consider chartering an Aero Lanka flight to a destination of your choice. Aero Lanka owns small planes available for private charter to remote locations like Ampara or Anuradhapura where ancient ruins are abundant.
Arrive in Colombo. Currently there are no direct flights from the United States to the international airport in Colombo, Sri Lanka. If you're traveling from the United States, you'll need to transfer.
Leave from Ratmalana Airport. Aero Lanka flights depart from Ratmalana Airport, a small airport about 30 minutes south of the city of Colombo. Take a taxi or take advantage of Aero Lanka's free transportation from their office in Colombo to Ratmalana Airport.
