Located just over 16 miles from Ventura, the Camarillo Airport is one of two airports that are less than 20-minute drives from Ventura. According to the County of Ventura website, the Camarillo Airport exists to relieve some of the demands on the much larger Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). There are some commercial flights out of Camarillo Airport, but it also focuses on other services, like chartered flights, plane rentals, flight training, plane maintenance and supplies for planes and pilots. The airport also provides storage for a variety of aircraft, and 550 aircraft are based out of this airport (as of 2010). Some restaurants and shops also reside in the airport, providing amenities for travelers.

The Oxnard Airport is located in Oxnard, California, which is less than a 20-minute drive from Ventura. This airport offers more commercial flights than Camarillo and is a commuter airport for LAX, according to the Ventura County website. Besides offering many flights to and from LAX, Oxnard also has pilot supplies, chartered flights, plane maintenance, shuttles to LAX by van and rental cars. Since Oxnard is a commuter airport, it has fewer aircraft (150 as of 2010) based out of it than Camarillo. Oxnard offers overnight parking for a fee.

Located just over 30 miles northwest of Ventura is Santa Barbara Airport (SBA), which is served by airlines including Delta, United, U.S. Airways, American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. The airport offers short-term and long-term parking as well as car rentals, taxi and shuttle services and bike racks. There is also a public bus stop across from the terminal. In addition to its commercial flights, the Santa Barbara airport has flight schools and charter services.

Los Angeles International Airport, which is abbreviated as LAX, is just over 70 miles south of Ventura. It is one of the largest airports in the world and is ranked sixth for the number of passengers that use the airport each year (as of early 2010). The airport hosts commercial and private flights of all types to all over the world. It has flights with many large and small airlines, including Air Berlin, British Airways, China Airlines, Korean Airlines, Qantas, U.S. Airways, Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue and many more. Flights out of LAX are often cheaper than flights out of smaller airports in surrounding areas, because there are so many more airlines and flights to choose from and less of a need for flight transfers. LAX offers free wireless Internet throughout much of the airport, making it convenient for business travelers. It also offers many shops and restaurants, and some of the restaurants listed on the LAX website include Burger King, California Pizza Kitchen, Cinnabon, La Brea Bakery, El Paseo, Euro Coffee, Haagen Dazs, Home Turf Sports Bar, Baja Fresh Express and many more.
