The Gulf Stream is a powerful, warm ocean current that flows from the Gulf of Mexico into the Atlantic Ocean. It is the strongest ocean current in the world and plays a major role in the climate of the Eastern United States and Europe. The Gulf Stream flows in a clockwise direction, starting in the Gulf of Mexico and then flowing along the coast of Florida and up the East Coast of the United States. It then crosses the Atlantic Ocean and flows along the coast of Europe before eventually returning to the Gulf of Mexico.
