How to Call Mexico

Whether it is to contact loved ones or to call an all-inclusive beach resort while planning a Cancun vacation, people often find themselves in need of placing a call to Mexico. It is a rather simple process that can be done from just about any phone, including cell phones. You might not get it on the first try, but do not give up because when the phone starts ringing, you'll be happy to hear the voice on the other end.

Instructions

  Determine the time at the destination where you are calling. Most of Mexico falls within the Central Time Zone, but some also are within the Mountain and Pacific areas. This can make a difference, particularly when calling from the Eastern Time Zone.

  When calling from the United States, the international access code is 011. When calling from other international locations, the access code is 00.

  Dial 52. This is the country code for Mexico.

  Leave the first 0 out of the phone number. Many times it will look like this (0) when it is listed. This is the first number needed for a city or regional area code when calling from within the country.

  Dial the rest of the numbers.
