Who rules Finland?

The President of Finland serves as the head of state and the commander-in-chief of the Finnish Defence Forces. The president is elected by direct, popular vote for a six-year term and can be re-elected for a second term. The current president of Finland is Sauli Niinistö, who was elected in 2012 and re-elected in 2018.
