Steven Callahan, an American yachtsman, holds the record for the longest time lost at sea. He survived for 76 days in a life raft drifting in the Atlantic Ocean after his sailboat sank in 1982. During his ordeal, Callahan relied on his knowledge of survival techniques, including fishing and water collection, to stay alive.
