Attend a driver training course that offers some training with buses. Every states has at least a few commercial driving schools that service each state, though many of them focus more on driving trucks.
Undergo a medical exam and have your doctor fill out your medical certification issued by the Department of Transportation. You will need to submit this with your application for a CDL.
Obtain your CDL from the Department of Motor Vehicles in your state. Testing typically involves a behind-the-wheel portion as well as a written test, so the training you've attended will come in very handy. In addition, you will need to provide your medical certificate. You will need valid identification, such as your regular driver's license, passport or military ID to prove your identity. Not every state has the same rules.
Apply for a touring bus driver job through a bus charter or tour company in your local area. Use newspaper classifieds, online ads and local business listings to find the tour companies.
